I think I'd rather be diversion'd, VoR'd, or Backfire'd than take 250 armor-ignoring AoE damage.

250 armor-ignoring, AoE, spammable damage is "not as powerful as it looks"? Um...what?
To be fair....it is pretty hilarious in PvE. Panic+WW+WD is basically PvE on cruise control, not that PvE wasn't already on cruise control....

Where are all the ritualist and assassin nerfs? How is it Anet is so focused screwing with skill changes that aren't needed or are less serious? Stupid stunts like this that make people jaded and complain.

Don't forget about Overload. It might add into the Mes cluster-mess-you-up fiasco. I am honestly trying to be optimistic about this, but it's really giving me the feeling that there will be rage quitters in RA pretty soon.

Bah! They still haven't bothered fixing SF's bug, have they? Atleast pick a profession who's skills haven't been already changed ten times in the past two months. ><

How do you guys coming up with 250 damage? If Wastrel's Demise functions like SH it should deal 10+10, 10+20, 10+30, 10+40, 10+50 = 200 damage.

Read it again (1) it's every second and (2) every second an additional 1..8 for every second the hex was active.
When left without being removed, at 12 dom it will do 120 damage, AoE.
As hex it doesn't 'work' with Mind Wrack anymore. Might have been rather neccesary to do this.

I wouldn't want to get diversioned.
Besides I'm pretty certain that since it ends on skill if you cast a hex removal it will won't stop the hex below it getting removed like wastrels worry. So it's only good with diversion/shame under it unless he's running veil.

Unless I am misunderstanding how it functions, at 12 Dom it should do 160 damage. Pulse that hits at the end of second: [1]16 [2]24 [3]32 [4]40 [5]48.
edit: I would assume it would function slightly different from SH, where the pulse hits on contact, rather than delayed to the end of the second. I could be wrong about this though.

250 damage is from Wastrel's Demise AND Wastrel's Worry (because they will always be used together now) @ 12+1+2 Dom, the standard now.
WD does 150 damage (10, 10+10, 10+20, 10+30, 10+40 = 150), but everyone will use it with WW now, because together they're insane AoE damage and great cover hexes for skills like diversion.
RA is going to suuuuuuck.

As far as I've seen starting the cast is enough to end wastrel's effect. But maybe with a PI knockdown....uhm need to try this new version, I was already having lot of fun with WW, let's see this.

Since people are struggling at how demise works.
It's another packet for every second it's been active, so at 15 dom.
10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 = 150
